GREEN MARSHAL WALKS TO VIRTUAL SUCCESS

GREEN MARSHAL WALKS TO VIRTUAL SUCCESS

VIRTUAL PLYMOUTH TO LANDS END WALK RAISES £1800.00.

In response to St Luke’s Hospice “Landmark Challenge” to take a “Virtual Walk” from Plymouth to Land’s End and back, Plymstock Bowling Club’s Green Marshall, John Hornsby, decided to give it a go.

Whilst the challenge was initiated by St. Luke’s Hospice as a virtual walk to raise funds, John wanted to raise money to help St. Luke’s Hospice and Motor Neurone Disease Charities in memory of Steve Foster and Roger Martin, two members of the club who had recently passed away.

John walk around Elburton and other areas local to him and within the Covid-19 guidelines, clocking up the distance to simulate walking to Land’s End and back.

John has now completed both legs of the challenge and has raised a total of £1800.00, which he is splitting between the two charities.

John expressed his appreciation to the members of Plymstock Bowling Club and others for their amazing and heart-warming support in enabling him to reach such a target, which was way in excess of the amount he had anticipated.
